Chhattisgarh congress declares 2nd list of 45 candidates

Chhattisgarh congress declares 2nd list of 45 candidates. Amit Jogi and Renu Jogi, son and wife of Congress leader Ajit Jogi, figured in the second list of 45 candidates announced by the party Monday for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections to be held Nov 11 and 19. Chhattisgarh has a 90-member house. The Congress had announced the names of candidates for 17 seats Oct 11. After Monday's announcement, candidates for 18 seats still remain to be named.
While Amit Jogi will contest the Marwahi reserved seat, his mother Renu Jogi will fight from the Kota assembly seat. Senior leader Ravindra Choubey will contest from Saja while Arun Vora, son of Congress treasurer Moti Lal Vora, will fight from Durg city seat. The first list featured family members of the three senior party leaders who were killed in a Maoist ambush May 25.
